The therapy with sodium bicarbonate
Examples of therapy with sodium bicarbonate solutions, CANCER

http://www.curenaturalicancro.org/english/perchè_terapia_bicarbonato_sodio.htm

What could be simpler, understanding that cancer thrives in an acid pH.

The fundamental reason and the motives that suggest a therapy with sodium bicarbonate against tumours is that, although with the concurrence of a myriad of variable concausal factors - the development and the local and remote proliferation of these tumours has a cause that is exclusively fungi.
At the moment, against fungi there is no useful remedy other than, in my opinion, sodium bicarbonate. The anti-fungins that are currently on the market, in fact, do not have the ability to penetrate the masses (except perhaps early administrations of azoli or of amfotercin B delivered parenterally), since they are conceived to act only at a stratified level of epithelial type. They are therefore unable to affect myceliar aggregations set volumetrically and also masked by the connectival reaction that attempts to circumscribe them.

Report: U.S. health care expensive, inefficientAmerica ranks last among six countries on key measures, group finds
Americans get the poorest health care and yet pay the most compared to five other rich countries, according to a report released on Tuesday.
Germany, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada all provide better care for less money, the Commonwealth Fund report found.
"The U.S. health care system ranks last compared with five other nations on measures of quality, access, efficiency, equity, and outcomes," the non-profit group, which studies health care issues, said in a statement.

US government trying to seize new Michael Moore film, says producer

Harvey Weinstein fires latest shot in battle over healthcare documentary

Charlotte Higgins in Cannes
Saturday May 19, 2007
The Guardian

Cannes is smacking its lips in anticipation of filmmaker and provocateur Michael Moore's latest jeremiad against the US administration, which receives its premiere at the film festival today. Sicko, a documentary tackling the state of American healthcare, focuses on the pharmaceutical giants, and particularly on health insurers.
The film has already caused Moore - who won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 2004 with Fahrenheit 911 - to clash with the American authorities. Now, according to movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, whose Weinstein Company is behind the film, the US government is attempting to impound the negative.

"Sicko" offers new talking points on health care

NEW YORK: Few of them may become Michael Moore fans. But some insurance industry officials and health policy experts have acknowledged that the film documentary "Sicko," Moore's indictment of health care in the United States, taps into widespread public concern that the system does not work for millions of Americans.

Wal-Mart health clinics divide US medics
Can a retail store deliver healthcare? Wal-Mart, the largest US retailer, thinks so, together with CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid, the leading US drug store chains. But as all four move ahead with plans to expand "walk-in clinics" in their stores, the doctors of Illinois are fighting back.

U.S. Senators financially enslave Americans as Indentured Servants to Big Pharma

May 16, 2007 by: Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
The facts found in the report are almost as astonishing as the source of the report itself: USA Today, a mainstream media giant in the United States, has revealed the apparent financial conflict of interest by U.S. Senators who voted against the infamous S.1082 reimportation amendment. That amendment would have ended Big Pharma's monopoly over U.S. consumers and ultimately saved American citizens,...

Black Wednesday at the FDA

May 9, 2007, should be cited in the annals of cancer immunotherapy as Black Wednesday. Within an eight-hour period that day, the FDA succeeded in killing not one but two safe, promising therapies designed and developed to act by stimulating a patient's immune system against cancer. The FDA's hubris will affect the lives and possibly the life spans of cancer patients from nearly every demographic, from elderly men with prostate cancer to young children with the rarest of bone cancers.

The dream of stimulating a person's immune system to fight his cancer is older than the modern era of cancer chemotherapy. Over a hundred years ago, Dr. William Coley at Memorial Hospital in New York City experimented with bacterial agents that appeared to have properties in stimulating immune responses against sarcoma, a cancer of the muscles and bones. Advances ebbed during the era of chemotherapy in the mid-20th century, but over the last 25 years cancer immunotherapy has received much research focus and periodic support from the biotechnology industry.

Our oceans are turning into plastic...are we?

A vast swath of the Pacific, twice the size of Texas, is full of a plastic stew that is entering the food chain. Scientists say these toxins are causing obesity, infertility...and worse....

This statistic is grim-for marine animals, of course, but even more so for humans. The more invisible and ubiquitous the pollution, the more likely it will end up inside us. And there's growing-and disturbing-proof that we're ingesting plastic toxins constantly, and that even slight doses of these substances can severely disrupt gene activity. "Every one of us has this huge body burden," Moore says. "You could take your serum to a lab now, and they'd find at least 100 industrial chemicals that weren't around in 1950." The fact that these toxins don't cause violent and immediate reactions does not mean they're benign: Scientists are just beginning to research the long-term ways in which the chemicals used to make plastic interact with our own biochemistry.

If they fail to do so, the WWF's Vision For 2050 warns "generations to come will have to live with the compromises and hardships caused by their inability to act".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This year's conference - The Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) - on "The Aging Eye," was truly exciting. We are on the cusp of some amazing medicine and technology...

  • Sebaceous cell carcinoma. This is a deadly disease. It attacks the skin, eyes, and eyelids - especially the upper eyelids - of people typically 60-70 years old. It kills 25% of the people that get it. It turns out that COX-2 inhibitor drugs can almost completely cure these lesions. Very interesting science.
  • LENSES to replace your cataracts. Ask your doctor about this one if you are considering cataract surgery. Doctors have implanted two different brands of lenses that allow for near, intermediate, and distant vision. Ironically, each brand's side effects are cured by the other's positive qualities. This means that your brain and these new lenses can work together to almost mimic the vision we had as a child.
  • SUPER DUPER SUPER GLUE. Researchers have created a new glue that uses branching polymers (repeating sets of molecules) called dendrimers. The potential is huge. Wounds that do not close easily and bones that need scaffolding to grow healthier love this glue. For example, star-shaped wounds to the eye do not close easily without destroying the surface of the cornea (the clear part of the eye) and thus preventing good vision after surgery. Now these wounds can be closed more cleanly. And it seems that other wounds heal and seal even better with these glues, too.
  • Curcumin. It's one powerful spice. The spice is antitumor, anti-inflammation, antioxidant, anti-Alzheimer'sŠ and now anti-VEGF. On one small obscure poster at the end of a row, I found research done out of India. Amazingly, curcumin has similar properties to the "miracle" drugs for eye disease that are now becoming the standard of care for diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration problems, and so onŠ all diseases where the body up-regulates growth factors for blood vessels (the so-called Vascular Endothelial Growth Factors, or VEGFs). Each injection of these drugs can run in the thousands of dollars, and some of the drugs require monthly injections. What a breakthrough, if all we need is to eat curry regularly.
  • siRNA. This new technology takes gene therapy to a new level. These molecules can block proteins and pathways of regulation in a unique way. Researchers have found that siRNA can modulate glaucoma as well as current drugs. The only difference is that these siRNA drugs last for weeks with one dose, as opposed to some regimens that require three times a day dosing.
  • Green Tea phenols. This is simple. Chemicals in green tea inhibit immune molecules such as CD4 + T-cells. In low doses, they act similarly to the inhibitor cyclosporine. But they don't cause apoptosis (sort of a cellular suicide ritual that can lead to unwanted side effects). Cyclosporine drops are essentially a last resort for people with dry eyes. Tea anyone?
  • The sun and melanoma. Once againŠ research is showing the benefit of sun when it comes to melanomas of the eye. Remember, the sun is natural and your body uses it to produce Vitamin DŠ Be careful to avoid the sunscreen hype and enjoy the sun this summer.
  • FAT on your body is a gold mine. This may be the best of them all. Doctors have taken fat from around the eyes of people having eyelid surgery and found multipotent stem cells. Can you imagine the potential? We can go to the plastic surgeon on Friday and immediately look youngerŠ grow out the fat into a body part over the weekend and voila feel younger with our new knee, hip, or heart transplant on Monday!

Fear of Eating

"Yesterday I did something risky: I ate a salad. These are anxious days at the lunch table. Who's responsible for the new fear of eating?" asks Paul Krugman.

CRASH COURSE ON NATURAL MEDICINE FOR PHYSICIANS
AND THERAPISTS
QUITO, ECUADOR JULY 19, 20, 21, 2007

By popular request, we are holding a special 3 day training on comprehensive, natural medicine diagnosis and treatment. Our successful seminar series on Acupuncture for Physicians in Ecuador and North America has spurred this demand.

The seminar will be held at our affiliate institution, INEPE, where advanced training was given to doctors during the WORLD CONGRESS FOR NATURAL MEDICINE, 2005. The seminar schedule will include hands-on training in the morning, followed by treatment of patients in the afternoon (this service sponsored by the Knights Hospitaller of Ecuador).

The INEPE program presents a unique opportunity for north americans to see how natural medicine is naturally practiced in such a lovely country as Ecuador. This seminar, workshop and residency is sponsored by the Knights Hospitaller of Ecuador, SOMA, Vital Medics, and the PanAmerican School of Natural Medicine.

day 1: Thursday

Electrodermal Screening - Newest Methods (EDS)
What began as an investigation of acupuncture points, today has grown into a scientific discipline of transdermal measurement of topographic points as a refined system of reflexodiagnosis. Measurements of the conductance of lower motor neurones reveals the functional status of internal organs via autonomic pathways. The EDS device and system provides the primary care practitioner with the least inexpensive tool that can evaluate the functional status well beyond ultrasonography and electrocardiology.

Hours 1-3: Overview of Electrodermal Diagnosis, basics of the system, professional measurements for confirmed diagnosis. Survey of the organ systems. The new hormonal points. Matching measurements with signs and symptoms of disease. Functional diagnoses. Overview of summation diagnosis, EDS + History + Laboratory = Success. Integrating other tests to confirm the EDS findings - lab, blood, urine, etc.

* A traditional Andean Lunch
After Lunch: servicing of patients until 5 PM. Electrodermal Screening, Laboratory, Neural Therapy.

day 2: Friday,
Natural medicine laboratory - hematology and urinalysis
A few simple drops of blood, viewed microscopically as dried and wet mounts, provide an enormous amount of nutritional and pathologic profiles, and will always show the destructive eating patterns of toxic, oxidative species.

Today's medicine has lost sight of common, simple laboratory tests as the basis for confirmation of primary care diagnosis. Many ordinary chemicals are routinely helpful in establishing not only a diagnosis but also a nutritional, metabolic profile of the patient. Jaundice can easily be differentiated into obstructive and non-obstructive types with a simple iodine spot test for urine. Phenylketonuria was discovered by the mere addition of ferric chloride solution to urine.

1st hour: Review of the office, in-house laboratory tests.
2nd hour: Urinalysis - the cells, crystals and casts. Not only pathologic urine states, but also the most destructive signs of bowel autotoxemia.
3rd hour: Nutritional and pathological profiles of dry blood mounts. Simple microscopy and pathologic patterns of a series of dried blood drops. Technic and methodology. High resolution microscopy analysis of red blood cell pathomorphology.

* A traditional Andean Lunch
After Lunch: servicing of patients until 5 PM. Electrodermal Screening, Laboratory, Neural Therapy.

Dr. Fernando Pinto & Dr. Charles McWilliams continue.

day 3: Saturday,

* 8 AM: servicing of patients in the local community. Electrodermal Screening, Laboratory, Neural Therapy.
* A traditional Andean Lunch
Afternoon until 3 PM: Review of the office, in-house laboratory tests and procedures, case histories of the prior two days, round table discussions.

Fee: $375, US [donations pledged to SMOKH, INEPE]
Seminar is bilingual, English/Spanish
CEU's: Certificates of Attendance (30 clock hours) will be issued by the PanAmerican School of Natural Medcine, the INEPE Institute, SOMA - SOCIEDAD MEDICA ECUATORIANA DE TERAPIAS NATURALES, and a Certificate of Appreciation for Community Service from the Knights Hospitaller of Ecuador.
